Our history

Technology Evaluation Centers (TEC), established in 1993,  is a privately-owned and profitable web-based company, based in Montreal, Canada. TEC is not a simple IT information directory. It is the only company of its kind to offer evaluators and decision makers a breadth of on-line technology evaluation centers-from ERP, CRM, to Security. To leverage TEC's repository of the most detailed on-line technology information available on market, visitors submit and rank their functional and technical priorities using weighted averages by completing TEC's short Smart Selection Questionnaire. Requirements may include industry-specific functionality, infrastructure compatibility, and, of course, pricing. The correlation and algorithmic process then screens visitor requirements and matches their needs to the most appropriate vendor solutions. 

Users receive easy-to-use graphical reports and scenario analysis capabilities on the information provided. TEC's leading analysts ensure information is up-to-date and accurate. Vendors are required to regularly submit up to 4,000 lines of criteria on each solution. Analysts vet each submission prior to listing them in the appropriate technology evaluation center. 

TEC is truly a one-stop source for impartial technology evaluation services. Its many evaluation centers receive over 750,000 unique visitors per month and TEC delivers its popular on-line TEC Newsletter to over 400,000 readers daily. It also offers an on-line Technology Learning Center, RFP templates and RFI templates for a range of solutions, and a user-friendly Vendor and Consultant (CTC) Showcase Directory. It is aligned with leading web and print media including MSI, Bitpipe, and CIO Magazine.
